Inspired by the classic hindi film, Kamaal Amrohi’s “Pakeezah”, Bhojpuri director Jitendra Kumar Suman is ready to make his film “Pakeezah” in Bhojpuri. Shooting for the film is due to start in the first week of September. This film is being produced by Arunachal Pradesh’s Keer Kenlomi and Ram Babu Singh is the associate producer. Superstar Rani Chatterjee is playing the lead role of Pakeezah in the film. She is playing the role of prostitute Sahib Jaan who believes that every prostitute is nothing but a living dead body. She feels that a bird in a cage and a torn kite is the true mirror of a prostitute’s life. The movie will showcase the grandeur of Nawabs and will portray a musical romance between two generations. This remake of the seventies classic will try to bring to life the role played by the tragedy queen of Indian cinema Meena Kumari.
